On the blockchain, an NFT carries a unique digital signature which is not easily spoofed. As an artist I can sell my artwork as an NFT, and that signature can stand in for my actual signature. That was truly revolutionary for me. I'm definitely no fan of NFT's, but that was at least one use case scenario: verifiability.
